Bodies are so different in shapes and sizes and hence your bra has to reflect this for it to be comfortable.
In addition to our commitment to providing the very best bras for every shape and size, we want to provide you with all the resources you need so that you can wear it the right way and care for it such that it delivers the support you are looking for!
How to Put On Your Bra for the Best Fit
Most women have never been taught this—and it truly changes how the bra feels.
1. Start at the loosest or middle hook when you are purchasing the bra.
Your band is the main source of support — not the straps. It provides 80-90% of the support and lift you need from the bra. When the bra is new, begin on the loosest or middle hook so that as the elastic naturally stretches with wear, you can move to the inward hooks to maintain the same support.
2. Scoop and swoop (the most important step).
This is what ensures comfort and shape.
- Gently scoop your breast tissue from the side and the bottom into the cup, so it sits inside the wire, not outside it.
This makes the cup fit correctly, prevents spillage, and allows the wire to sit flat on the side and under.
3. Check for the proper wire placement.
The wire should:
- Sit flat against your sternum in the center
- Sit behind the breast tissue on the sides (not pressing on it)
If it’s floating or sitting on breast tissue — you need a different size or shape.
Make sure the wire is sitting under your bust — not on top of it — and that the bra band is level around your ribcage. The wire should hug the shape of your breast root and sit flat against your ribcage.
4. Adjust your straps — but they are not meant to carry the weight.
Tighten them just enough to keep the cup in place. If they dig, they’re too tight. If they slip, they’re too loose.
Re-adjust every few wears — straps loosen over time as you wear them.
5. Rotate your bras.
Don’t wear the same bra on consecutive days.
The elastic needs time to rest and return to its original tension, so it can support you again the next time.
Note: Make sure you scoop and swoop the entire breast tissue inside the underwire every time you put on the bra.
Care for your bra just like you do for your favorite clothes.
